Early intervention is the most important factor in achieving a good outcome with capsulitis. When the condition is caught early, before significant ligament damage or toe deviation has occurred, conservative treatments are often highly effective. Waiting until the toe has significantly drifted or the plantar plate has torn may limit treatment options and require more invasive interventions.
